Frequently asked questions

Getting started

To get started, you need: a business location and basic details (name, address, hours); a complete menu that DoorDash can list; a bank account, EIN and legal info so DoorDash can pay you; and a way to receive and manage orders. You can ask for a DoorDash Tablet or use your existing POS.

Yes. It's your business tax ID, and it's required to verify your business and set up payments. If you already have one, it's on your tax documents. If you don't, you can get it free at IRS.gov in a few minutes.

Less than you'd think. You don't need a POS integration, we can give you a tablet. You don't need any special software, and no alcohol license unless you plan to sell alcohol.

Setup is quick. Once you submit your information, DoorDash sets up your menu and you'll get a confirmation when your store is live. On average, 40% of SMB restaurant merchants onboard to DoorDash the same day they sign-up.

A DoorDash Tablet, your existing POS system, or both. Orders can flow directly into the system you already use.

Yes. You can add more locations later from the same Merchant Portal account.

A lot. The platform has grown significantly, with more customers, better tools for visibility, and more control over how you run delivery. Many restaurants that left have come back and seen different results. The best way to know is to try it again with no commitment.

Commissions & fees

Your commission rate based on your plan. The delivery fee is paid by the customer. No monthly fees, no signup fees, no additional payment processing fees.

Your store keeps running and your commission kicks in based on the plan you chose. Basic starts at 15%, Plus at 25%, Premier at 30%. You only pay when orders come in.

Weekly deposits to your bank account. Daily payouts are available through Fast Pay if you need access sooner.

Running your store

Pause with one tap. Resume when you're ready. You're always in control of when your store is open on DoorDash.

Yes. Most restaurants do. You can adjust menu prices in the Merchant Portal at any time. We recommend keeping any increase under 10% versus your in-store prices.

No. There's no contract and no penalty for changing your mind. You can upgrade, downgrade, or stop anytime.

No contract. No fixed cost.

You only pay when orders come in.
