What is DoorDash Store Loyalty?

DoorDash Store Loyalty is a customizable rewards program designed to drive higher average order value and frequency from your existing DoorDash customers. With no additional marketing fees, the only cost to you is the value of the reward once your loyal customers redeem it.

How to set up your loyalty program in the Merchant Portal

Setting up your Store Rewards program in the Merchant Portal is easy:

1. Log in to the Merchant Portal.

2. There are two ways to sign up. In the left navigation:

  • Option 1:lick on Solutions Center. Scroll down, and under “Store Loyalty,” select Add Feature.

  • Option 2: Head to the Marketing tab and select Loyalty.

3. In the sign-up process, we will suggest the recommended option/program details based on the average ticket size of your store(s). However, you can also customize the following aspects of your campaign:

  • Spend Threshold: The minimum amount a customer needs to spend to receive the reward. 

  • Reward Amount: How much they will save. We recommend 10% of the threshold.

4. Review your program details and click on Create Store Loyalty Program.

Once your campaign has been up and running for a while, make sure to check back in the Merchant Portal to see the results of your loyalty program.

How to design your Loyalty Rewards

When designing your loyalty rewards, you can customize your program details:

  • Spend-based: Customers earn a reward for spending a specified amount (e.g., $10 reward for every $100 spent). This is recommended for the highest ROI.

  • Dollar off: Include a dollar reward amount that is worth approximately 10% of the threshold. For example, if customers need to spend $80 to earn a reward, offer an $8 reward. This is the recommended reward type.

How to promote your DoorDash Store Loyalty program

You don't need to worry about promoting your loyalty program – the DoorDash Store Loyalty team will handle it for you using various methods, including:

  • Automated customer messages: Keep your customers informed and engaged with automated messages about their reward progress.

  • Store cell badges: Alert customers when they have unused rewards to encourage redemption.

  • Website footer reminders: Keep your loyalty program top-of-mind to increase conversion.

  • Automated & personalized notifications: Drive order frequency through reminders sent via push notifications and the notification hub.

All of this will be done on our side, with no action needed by you.

How can I see how my loyalty program is performing?

There won’t be enough data to give you a full picture of the loyalty program's performance when you first sign up. However, after customers have placed multiple orders from your store and redeemed rewards over the following weeks and months, you can:

  1. Log into the Merchant Portal.

  2. Head over to the Store Loyalty section beneath the Marketing tab in your left navigation.

  3. View your reports.

Please note that loyalty is all about building customer relationships over time, and so it is best to let the program run continuously to see true results. Note that any program changes require 30 days’ notice.

What is the cost of running a loyalty program?

With no marketing charges and no additional commission, the only cost to you is the reward redemption you choose to provide to customers (e.g., if you offer $5 off after $50 spent, your cost is the $5 reward once the customer redeems it).

I already have a loyalty program for my business. Am I still eligible for Store Loyalty?

Yes! Store Loyalty is specific to orders placed within the DoorDash ecosystem. This means both loyalty programs can still co-exist.

Can I choose only to include some of my stores in Store Loyalty?

Yes. When setting up a program, you can choose specific stores to enroll.

Can I offer different rewards at different locations?

No. All stores enrolled in Store Loyalty must have the same program.

Should I offer Store Loyalty if I already run Ads and Promotions?

Yes, Store Loyalty is designed to work in tandem with other marketing initiatives. Ads and Promotions help you attract new customers. Once they’ve ordered from you, Store Loyalty keeps them engaged and coming back for more throughout the customer lifecycle. Promotions and loyalty rewards cannot be stacked by customers, and the largest value between them will be applied at checkout.
