Meet Curry Up Now

Curry Up Now is a fast-casual Indian restaurant with 16 locations in California, Georgia, and Texas. The restaurant offers customers an array of menu options, from street snacks to Indian Street food to deconstructed samosas, all prepared to order. Hungry diners can order food for takeout or dine-in.

The challenge: Managing service transition

Previously, Curry Up Now was a quick-service restaurant with minimal seating and menu offerings before transitioning to a fast-casual model with a dine-in service, abundant seating, and a more complex menu. This transition would mean increased service and hospitality demands on staff, especially since the business wanted to increase its order volume and sales.

However, the team faced two challenges. First, the restaurant had a labor shortage, which meant long wait times for customers to place orders and slow table turn times. Second, for many of the staff, English was a second language, making it harder for them to answer customers' questions about the detailed menu and customizations available, hurting the overall customer experience.

The solution: Tableside Order & Pay

By implementing Tableside Order & Pay, a digital in-store ordering solution that uses QR codes to streamline the in-store experience for customers and merchants, Curry Up Now added:

  • Digital Menu Access: Customers scan QR codes to browse menu with photos and descriptions

  • Easy Ordering: Place orders and pay bills in one place

  • POS Integration: Simple order management through an existing system

  • Staff Support: Digital ordering helps serve more guests without adding staff

"Tableside Order & Pay is like an extra pair of hands, helping to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and boost efficiency."

Atish Kamble, General Manager, Curry Up Now

Results: Improved efficiency and sales

After implementing Tableside Order & Pay into its service model transition, Curry Up Now saw a 15% increase in average check value and a 47% increase in staff tip size compared with non-Tableside Order & Pay dine-in orders.* The digital solution helped them serve more guests efficiently while improving both the customer and staff experience.
