Sponsored Listings are ads that are featured in highly visible places in the DoorDash app, like the homepage and the top of relevant search results. They’ll help your store stand out from the crowd, and unlike ads on other platforms, you’ll only be charged for orders placed through your ad — not for clicks or impressions.

For those on the Marketplace Premier pricing plan, ads are automatically run on your behalf at no extra cost².

A Sponsored Listing (also known as an ad) allows your restaurant to get top visibility on relevant channels, such as the DoorDash homepage and in search results. If customers search for your cuisine type or for keywords related to your restaurant, you will have more visibility in their search results.

A Promotion, on the other hand, is a special offer you provide to your customers to encourage them to order from you. Think about Promotions like coupons: whether it’s a $0 delivery fee or item discounts, you incentivize customers to order from you by offering them a deal.

Sponsored Listings appear on the homepage and at the top of relevant DoorDash search results. That means your business will appear ahead of others as potential customers explore options in DoorDash.

Your Promotions can be seen in select homepage carousels, your store page, and the Deals section of the DoorDash app.

You can target new, existing, lapsed or all customers in your delivery area by selecting from the following promotions:

No, you don't. Sponsored Listings are designed for busy merchants with varying levels of advertising experience. Visit the Marketing tab in the Merchant Portal, and we’ll guide you through the creation of your ad campaign. Once your ad is live, you’ll easily be able to make adjustments and monitor its performance in the Merchant Portal. 

  • The free trial credit covers $100 worth of marketing cost per eligible store.

  • Marketing cost includes the customer discount, marketing fee, and applicable taxes.

  • You’re responsible for covering additional costs if the trial exceeds $100 in marketing spend.

  • If a store has not reached $100 in marketing spend before the campaign ends, you’ll forfeit the remaining credits.

  • You can cancel your campaign at any time.

  • Credits are nontransferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

To use this free trial on Sponsored Listings, select Advertise to all customers or Advertise to new customers. For Promotions, we are currently only offering this free trial on Smart Campaigns.

¹ This is a limited-time offer for select merchants in the US valid until terminated by DoorDash; DoorDash may end this offer at any time. Eligible merchants will see the offer available in the Marketing tab in the DoorDash Merchant Portal. Stores that have previously participated in Sponsored Listings are not eligible for the Sponsored Listings credit, and stores that have previously participated in Promotions are not eligible for the Promotions credit. After the $100 credit is consumed per store, merchants will be automatically charged for the remainder of the campaigns per store. No cash value. Non-transferable.
